You look a lot a like with your dad

"You really look a lot like your father." Told a new friend I met online when we first started Skype today. As always, I tell my story to new people I meet.

From having 2 mothers and a (donor) father. Earlier I showed him pictures of my mothers and me when I was still young via chat, and a picture of the first meeting with my (donor) father. I still enjoy hearing this. That I look like my (donor) father.

I used to think I look much more like my (donor) father than I look like my mother. And after the first meeting I certainly thought that even more.

But now I am already almost a year further after the first meeting with my (donor) father. And I'm starting to see that I'm basically just a mishmash. I have a little bit of my biological parents. My mother and donor father. Outwardly and inwardly. And how I behave. Because of the DNA I got from them.

But I also look a lot like my other mother, my grandfather, my (half) brothers and sisters and my best friends. As they often say: whatever you deal with, you will also be infected.

You start to look like people and get character traits, because they are important people who are close to you. You have Nurture, and you have the Nature. And I think both make me who I am. Joëlle Mishmash.
