Bonus family meeting at Stichting aap

A while ago I had suggested to my brothers and our donor father to meet them all during the May holiday. I came up with the idea of going to Stichting Aap together, I had never been there before and I wanted to share this moment with them.

The tour was really fun. It was very interesting to get to places where you will not just hit without a tour. There were all super beautiful animals and our tour guide Jennifer was doing really well, even though it was her second time alone giving a tour. Like many of the employees of the Stichting Aap, she is a volunteer who does this because she cares about animals and wants to do something for them. In between during the tour, some of our had brief conversations with each other about how things were going and stuff. And I was told several times how good it was to take them all to the Stichting Aap. Thanks everyone. I thought it was a great idea myself.

Afterwards we arrived first with our group and our tour guide Jennifer showed them the games they use to occupy the monkeys to give them a challenge to get their food. Then she asked if we had any questions. My half-brother Noah asked why she had become a volunteer at the Stichting Aap. She had become a volunteer because she always went there herself when her son was little and she always wanted to be a volunteer there when she had the time. Then she asked Noah what was the reason for him to come to the Stichting Aap. “You should just ask Joëlle that. She has arranged all of this.” he said. So I was allowed to tell what happened. That we were all brothers and sisters in the front row. And that we had a family meeting with brothers, sisters, mothers and our donor father. It seemed like we were on a talk show. It was that funny. And people were genuinely interested in our story.

Afterwards, after the other group had returned and we had watched a video thank you for coming and donated some money to the Stichting Aap we were still chatting with the guides. And how special they thought it was that we have so much fun together. And that if we want to come up with all of them next, we can just email or call. And do not necessarily have to make it difficult to have to book per 2 people. Afterwards we all had a drink with them and some ate a bit. Then at the end our ways part. I also gave my donor father another present. A photo book with a photo of our first meeting and a photo of my graduation ceremony in it. This way he can keep more photos of us (his donor children / my half brothers and sisters) in it. I definitely recommend taking a tour at Stichting Aap. 🙈
